Digital Storytelling

There's another really powerful use for the rostrum camera technique and it's one which every single one of us can use to make fantastic records of our family. A photo album is good but a digital story is out of this world.

Digital stories are very easy to make. First decide who or what your story will be about and then find or scan some photographs and documents.

Of course you could start the other way round. See what interesting photographs or documents you already have and the story will come to you.

Perhaps you have some photographs of your parents when they were young and a copy of their marriage certificate? That's a digital story waiting to be told.

A good digital story will ideally have about a dozen photographs and should only last about two minutes.

You'll need a script which you can read to tell the story. Simply write one or two sentences for each picture.

Here's an example of a digital story.

It's called "Great Grandad"
