The 21st Century has Arrived

The world has moved on since the turn of the century. Unfortunately, schools are still "delivering" the curriculum which was designed by the Victorians in 1870 for their industrialised world. But we no longer live in that world. We need a New Curriculum for a New Millennium but I see no sign of it in schools yet.

I'm not alone in thinking this way. The videos on this page look at the issues from a number of different angles and I urge you to watch them. If you do nothing else, watch Ken Robinson (second video down) but I'd recommend watching them all.

The first one is a 2007 update of a film called Shift Happens made by Karl Fisch. Karl's film is on YouTube and has become so popular that it has been copied and remixed many times. This is one:

This is the wonderful Sir Ken Robinson, full of humour but making a serious point. You must watch this:

Finally (for now) one of the many remixes of 'Shift Happens'. Type "shift happens" into YouTube's search box and you'll see many more.
